Portrait of my daughter done in graphite. Started back in Feb, finally finished tonight. Scanning graphite is not so good – I took a picture, a better one will be in order soon.

Hectic last few weeks, prevented me from working on this very much.

We can finally see Patches personality coming out – won’t be long until we get to Magic. As always comments welcome!

Trying to work a good method for the fur – still getting it…

A little overdue for an update on this one eh? Started adding color to Patch.

Using a variety of colors up till now – to name a few for the fur greyed lavender, chestnut, pink, light peach, indigo blue, tuscan red and a couple others.
For the eyes – orange canary yellow, yellow ochre, green ochre, dark green, cream, tuscan red.

Getting more ink on the page – I basically just let my intuition guide me.

Did I mention I love my rapidograph pens? Here’s a some more on the strange Dunce wip.

Here is an experiment done recently with watercolor and colored pencil. I first used watercolor to paint a small pumpkin from life, afterward I decided to add and enhance with colored pencils.

The abstract background was done with gingeroot, yellow ochre, burnt sienna and white. I want to get the background done before I move into the cats color. This will help me see the colors that will work best with the cats.
